Iran building cruisers to launch Shahed drones — expert

Anatolii Khrapchynskyi, an aviation expert and deputy general director of a company that produces electronic warfare equipment, stated this on Espreso TV.

He said that it is possible to launch drones from oil tankers, which Russia is suspected of doing.

"Moreover, Iran is now converting some tankers into, conditionally speaking, drone-carrying cruisers, which will allow them to do this from the waters of, let's say, neutral waters against any state. If you can sail up to the 12-mile state limit, you can position yourself just outside it and launch these drones," Khrapchynskyi believes.

The expert added that we understand that with the operational range of these drones, they can afford to do this.

"America fights with Tomahawks this way, and Iran can fight with Shaheds this way. Therefore, I would say that launching from commercial ships, that is, from the shadow fleet in the Baltic Sea from neutral waters, is very easy and most likely this is how it is being done," he concluded.
