Investigation of F-16 fighter jet crash: Ukraine appoints 11 forensic examinations
The State Bureau of Investigation is conducting a pre-trial investigation into the circumstances of the F-16 fighter jet crash in August that killed pilot Oleksii Mes. Investigators order 11 forensic examinations

The State Bureau of Investigation reported at the request of Suspilne.
"Among the examinations: comprehensive, commission-based, judicial, engineering-transport, military, computer-technical regarding information from the recovered flight recorder of the mentioned aircraft, commodity, forensic medical, and others," stated the State Bureau of Investigation.
They added that conclusions about the causes of the plane crash and the possible connection between its occurrence and the actions or inaction of specific officials or the pilot will be made only after all the forensic reports are received.
- On August 29, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that an F-16 fighter jet crashed while repelling a Russian missile attack.
- In September, it became known that a special commission of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine was investigating the circumstances of the F-16 fighter jet crash that killed pilot Oleksii Mes. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that the results would be known “soon.”
