The propaganda agency TASS, Telegram channels close to Russian security forces, and the opposition publication Astra reported the information on the evening of September 19.
His body was found near a car on a road not far from a forest; a 12-gauge hunting rifle and a note complaining of depression lay nearby.
"I did this myself, I'm tired of fighting depression for the 5th year. It's getting worse and worse, I have no strength," Astra quotes Tyunin's alleged suicide note.
The preliminary cause of the official's death being considered by investigators is suicide.
Khimprom Engineering is the only Russian manufacturer of carbon fiber, which is necessary for the production of Shahed drones.
