Defending Chasiv Yar: Ukrainian Armed Forces take measures to thwart Russian capture

"Our brigade is actively engaged in defense tasks south of Bakhmut and in the Chasiv Yar area, collaborating with other units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The situation remains tense, as the enemy has identified Chasiv Yar as a top-priority target. Despite continuous 24/7 assaults on our positions, the Defense Forces are working tirelessly to protect and secure Chasiv Yar," Malyarevych asserted.

Highlighting the significance of defending each position, Malyarevych emphasized that successful defense at individual positions contributes to an effective defense along the entire front line.

"Given the dynamic situation, things can change rapidly in this war. Defense forces might temporarily lose positions, then they reclaim them. Each position represents a crucial line of defense and personnel. Holding each position is important to the overall success of the front-line defense," he added.

• On February 29, Ilya Yevlash, head of the press service of the "Khortytsia" operational and strategic group of troops, revealed that Russian troops are making attempts to launch attacks and reclaim lost positions in the Bakhmut direction. Despite their efforts, the Ukrainian Armed Forces persist in inflicting losses on the invading army.
• Over the past day, the front witnessed 71 combat clashes. In the Novopavlivka direction, Russian forces attempted to breach the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defense 25 times. Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled several attacks, resulting in the elimination of 1,160 Russian soldiers.
