Despite heavy losses, the Russian occupation army is able to capture new small settlements in Ukraine. Avdiivka area remains the main direction for Russia
This was reported by the UK Ministry of Defense.
It is noted that over the past week, Russia has accelerated the advance of its troops west of Avdiivka. The Russian army has created a narrow passage deep into Ukrainian territory to enter the vtown of Ocheretyne, located about 15 kilometers north of Avdiivka.
Since the Russians took control of Avdiivka, the area has remained one of the main focuses of Russian operations.
"Despite sustaining continued high losses, it is highly likely that Russian Ground Forces are able to continuously target Ukrainian positions in the area and have taken control of several small settlements," the report says.
- The Institute of the Study of War suggests that the capture of Chasiv Yar will allow the Russian Federation to launch further offensive operations against the towns that form a significant defense belt in Donetsk region.
