Bohdana self-propelled howitzer's armor withstands Lancet hit
Ukrainian Armor's press center confirms that one of its Bohdana self-propelled artillery systems has successfully withstood a strike by a Russian Lancet kamikaze drone.
Defense Express reports, citing Ukrainian Armor.
It is noted that although the self-propelled artillery system was severely damaged by the Lancet strike, the armor generally withstood the hit, saving the lives of the artillery crew.
“As you can see from the photos and videos released by the military, the Bohdana was heavily damaged, but the armor was able to withstand the hit and thus save the lives of the crew. The 155-mm Bohdana self-propelled artillery system, built to NATO standards, has repeatedly proven its accuracy against enemy targets. Today we see evidence of its reliability. We are working for Victory!” emphasized the press service of Ukrainian Armor.
Defense Express believes this is the first known case of a domestic Bohdana self-propelled artillery system being damaged in combat, and the first time it has been reported that the physical protection of the equipment withstood a hit from a Russian Lancet kamikaze drone.
This example truly underscores the high level of reliability of the domestic self-propelled artillery unit Bogdana. However, perhaps this will also serve as the 'starting point' for a new phase of the confrontation between kamikaze drones and equipment on the battlefield.
