175 clashes occur at front on Oct.29: tense situation in Kurakhove, Pokrovsk sectors - Ukraine's General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reports as of 8:00 a.m.

According to the updated information, yesterday Russian aggressors launched three missile attacks on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas using three missiles, as well as 77 air strikes, including 156 drones. In addition, they conducted over 4,750 attacks, 148 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems, and used about 1,400 kamikaze drones.

25 Ukrainian settlements were hit by air strikes.

“Yesterday, the aviation and missile troops and artillery of Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted eleven strikes on the areas of Russian troops and weapons concentration, destroying one artillery system and two other important targets," the statement said.

Frontline update

In the Kharkiv direction, four hostile attacks took place in the vicinity of Vovchansk and Lyptsi. 

In the Kupyansk direction, 22 Russian attacks took place over the day. Ukrainian defense forces repelled the Russian assault towards Synkivka, Kolisnykivka, Zahryzove, Holubivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Novoosynove, Berestove, Bohuslavka and Lozova.

In the Lyman direction, the Russian forces attacked 15 times. They tried to advance near the settlements of Hrekivka, Druzheliubivka, Cherneshchyna, Novomykhailivka, Nevske, Terny, Torske, Serebrianka and Yampolivka. 

The Russian troops attempted to force Ukrainian defenders from their positions in the areas of Bilohorivka, Verkhnekamianske, Zvanivka, and Ivano-Dariivka in the Siversk direction 13 times. 

In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupants attacked twice, near Stupochky.

In the Toretsk direction, the Russian aggressor made five attacks near Toretsk and Shcherbynivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 43 Russian troops' assault and offensive actions towards the settlements of Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Novohrodivka, Krutyi Yar, Krasnyi Yar, Selydove and Vyshneve. The highest concentration of Russian attacks was near the village of Promin. 

In the Kurakhove direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces rebuffed 42 attacks. The Russian forces made their main efforts in the areas of Novoselydivka, Novodmytrivka, Maksymilianivka, Dalne, Antonivka, Katerynivka, Berestky, Illinka and Trudove.

In the Vremivka direction, the Russians made six attacks on Ukrainian positions near Novoukrainka, Yasna Poliana and Shakhtarske. They actively used assault and bomber aircraft to attack the area.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian invaders attacked Ukrainian positions four times. They received a tough repulse and suffered losses.

On the border with Belarus no signs of the formation of offensive groups of Russian occupation forces were detected. 

On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the Russian army is actively using artillery and aviation in the vicinity of Ukrainian settlements.

The operation in the Kursk region is ongoing.

“Ukrainian soldiers inflict significant losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces and actively undermine the Russian offensive potential in the rear,” the General Staff added.
