144 combat clashes erupt on Russia-Ukraine frontline, 40 in Kurakhove direction

Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported the information as of 8:00 a.m. on October 28.

According to the updated information, Russian forces launched a missile attack on Ukrainian positions and populated areas yesterday, accompanied by 91 air strikes, including 184 KAB bombs. Additionally, they conducted 4,410 shelling attacks.

Russian airstrikes targeted 4 settlements in Chernihiv region; 21 settlements in Sumy region; 4 settlements in Kharkiv region; 1 settlement in Luhansk region; 1 settlements in Donetsk region; 2 settlements in Zaporizhzhia region; 2 settlements in Kherson region.

Yesterday, the aviation, missile troops and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted eleven strikes on concentrations of Russian troops and weapons, destroying one control center and one artillery system. 

Frontline update

In the area of Vovchansk in the Kharkiv direction, four Russian attacks on Ukrainian troops' positions took place over the last day.

In the Kupyansk direction, 20 Russian attacks took place. Ukrainian Defense forces fought off the Russian offensive towards Kindrashivka, Synkivka, Kolisnykivka, Kruhliakivka, Lozova, Zahryzove, Pershotravneve and Vyshneve.

Russia attacked 16 times in the Lyman direction. Russian troops concentrated their main offensive efforts near Cherneshchyna, Novomykhailivka, Makiivka, Terny, Zarichne, Serebrianka and Hryhorivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces attacked nine times near Orikhovo-Vasylivka and Predtechyne.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces carried out six attacks near Toretsk and Shcherbynivka, actively using bombers, dropping up to ten guided bombs.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 27 Russian offensives towards Myroliubivka, Promin, Krutyi Yar, Vyshneve and Selydove.

In the Kurakhove direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces beat back 37 attacks. Russian forces concentrated their main efforts near Novoselydivka, Novodmytrivka, Kurakhivka, Maksymilianivka, Antonivka, Kurakhove and Katerynivka.

In the Vremivka direction, Russian troops made eight attacks on Ukrainian positions near Novoukrainka and Bohoiavlenka with the support of aviation.

In the Orikhiv and Huliaipole directions, Russian forces actively used attack and bombing aircraft, in particular, dropping more than a dozen guided bombs.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian troops attacked the Ukrainian positions three times. They were fiercely repulsed and suffered losses.

On the border with Belarus, no signs of Russian offensive groups formation were detected.

On the border with the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the Russian military is actively using artillery and aircraft near Ukrainian settlements.

The operation in the Kursk region is ongoing, with Russia conducting 29 air strikes, dropping 42 KAb bombs and firing 323 artillery rounds in the last day.
