139 clashes occur on Russian-Ukrainian front: heavy fighting near Pokrovsk and Kurakhove

On November 19, 139 combat clashes erupted on the Russian-Ukrainian front. In the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove sectors, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions more than 60 times

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff stated this in its report as of 08:00 a.m. on November 20.

Yesterday, Russia launched two missile strikes and 73 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas, using five missiles and dropping 124 guided bombs. Additionally, Russian forces used 1,445 ‘kamikaze’ drones and fired over 4,400 times, including 173 times with multiple rocket launch systems.

Russian forces carried out airstrikes near 30 settlements across Ukraine.

Over the past day, Ukraine's aviation, missile forces, and artillery struck two Russian manpower concentrations, three artillery systems, two air defense systems, a radar station, two command posts, an ammunition depot, and another key militaryfacility.

Frontline update

In the Kharkiv sector, the Russian army unsuccessfully attempted to breach the defenses of Ukrainian forces near Vovchansk five times.

In the Kupyansk sector, the Ukrainian forces repelled 11 Russian attacks near Kindrashivka, Lozova, Petropavlivka, Zahryzove, Pershotravneve, and Kruhliakivka. Russian army actively used aviation in this area.

In the Lyman sector, Russian forces attacked 14 times near Hrekivka, Novoiehorivka, Hryhorivka, Torske, and Terny.

In the Kramatorsk sector, a single combat clash occurred near Stupochky.

In the Toretsk sector, Russian troops, supported by aviation, carried out eight attacks near Toretsk, Druzhba, and Shcherbynivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 38 attacks near Promin, Lysivka, Petrivka, Dacheske, Myroliubivka, Novotoretske, Yurivka, Pustynka, and Pushkyne.

In the Kurakhove sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 23 attacks. Russia concentrated its main efforts near Novoselydivka, Sontsivka, Berestky, Kurakhove, Dalnie, Yelyzavetivka, and Antonivka.

In the Vremivka sector, Russia launched 15 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Kostiantynopolske, Trudove, Sukhi Yaly, Rozdolne, and Novodarivka.

In the Orikhiv sector, Russian forces unsuccessfully attacked once near Novoandriivka. 

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, the invading Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions two times. They were fiercely repulsed and suffered losses.

On the border with Belarus, no signs of enemy offensive groups were detected.

On the border with the Sumy region, the Russian army is actively using artillery and aviation from the territory of the Russian Federation in the vicinity of Ukrainian settlements.

  • The occupying Russian army lost 1,690 servicemen over the day of the war. Ukrainian Defense forces destroyed 8 Russian tanks and 91 drones.
