He shared his opinions with Espreso TV channel.
"As the US elections approach, military aid will increase. We will be able to get more weapons. Because President Biden will need to report on how many weapons his administration has provided to Ukraine and what results he has achieved. If there are no results, it will be a losing position," explained Sunhurovskyi.
The expert noted that Ukraine does not receive some types of weapons that it needs for a successful counteroffensive.
"The Biden administration will have to increase military assistance to Ukraine. Another problem is the extent to which it will be supported by us. That is, what results we will achieve. We are not getting all the weapons we need. For example, we are not getting helicopters and engineering equipment that we really need," he added.
On May 25, Spain announced a new military aid package. It included mainly Leopard 2 tanks and a batch of M-113 armored personnel carriers.
The previous US aid package was announced on May 9. It was aimed mainly at strengthening Ukraine's air defense and meeting the needs of artillery ammunition. However, it was not an urgent delivery, but an order for the future.
South Korea could have transferred hundreds of thousands of artillery rounds to Ukraine through the US, but Seoul would not confirm the delivery.
On May 26, Reuters reported that the US would announce a new tranche of military aid to Ukraine amounting to USD 300 million, which would mainly consist of ammunition.
