"Military and biological activity": Russia returns to old fakes about US biolaboratories in Ukraine

According to him, with the beginning of autumn, "Russians began another seasonal "escalation" of insinuations regarding biological weapons in Ukraine." On September 13, the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Serhiy Ryabkov, said that the US tries to "cover up the traces of biological military activity in Ukraine."

"This is a continuation of the Kremlin's misinformation efforts to desperately justify the Russia's large-scale war against Ukraine, to distract from the numerous war crimes committed on the territory of Ukraine, and to hide its own activities to circumvent the provisions of the Convention on the Prohibition of Biological Weapons (BTWC)," Tochytskyi said.

Tochytsky also added that Moscow tries to rehabilitate itself after the diplomatic defeat at the official Consultative Meeting of the CSTO member states. According to the results of this meeting, the Russians failed to "extend" her false accusations against Ukraine and the USA.

"The vast majority of the 89 delegations of the BTWC member countries, except for a group of Russian “back-singers”, were unequivocally convinced of the fabricated nature of the Russian accusations, Russia's gross abuse of the provisions of the Convention," the Ukrainian government official emphasized.
