Meta removes over 1,000 Russian fake accounts supporting Ukraine war

The US corporation Meta, which owns social networks Facebook and Instagram, have deleted a network of accounts that consistently posted pro-Russian comments supporting the  Russian war on Ukraine

It is reported that the accounts were managed by an organization in St. Petersburg, Russia. They work in an office and have a job listing for "spammers, commenters, content analysts, designers, and programmers."

"The accounts published pro-Russian comments on the content shared by influential people of social networks and media companies, trying to create the impression of support for Russia. They were directed against politicians, journalists, actors and celebrities who showed strong support for Ukraine," the report said.

A total of 45 Facebook accounts and 1,037 Instagram accounts were deleted.
