Melitopol mayor reports explosion in Russian-held city
On Wednesday, April 5, the mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, reported that an explosion was heard in the temporarily occupied city
He wrote about it on Telegram.
The explosion was heard in the northern and western districts of the city.
"Cotton* continues to flourish in the temporarily occupied Melitopol. An explosion was just heard in the northern and western districts of the city. We are clarifying the information," the statement said.
*"Cotton" (bavovna) is the name given by Ukrainians to explosions on the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and in the Russian Federation.

According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the invaders are distributing leaflets in Melitopol about evacuation to Russia, frightening residents with the Ukrainian army's offensive.
