Melitopol mayor reports explosion in Russian-held city

He wrote about it on Telegram.

The explosion was heard in the northern and western districts of the city.

"Cotton* continues to flourish in the temporarily occupied Melitopol. An explosion was just heard in the northern and western districts of the city. We are clarifying the information," the statement said. 

*"Cotton" (bavovna) is the name given by Ukrainians to explosions on the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and in the Russian Federation.

• According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the invaders are distributing leaflets in Melitopol about evacuation to Russia, frightening residents with the Ukrainian army's offensive.
