This was reported on the Telegram channel of the Belarusian Ministry of Defense.
"In accordance with the plan of unannounced inspections of the level of combat and mobilisation readiness, approved by the head of the service department of the armed forces, the Minsk military commandant's office is carrying out a set of measures to transfer from peacetime to wartime," the ministry said.
The Belarusians say that the main purpose of the event is "to test the knowledge of servicemen and assess their actions in bringing the military unit to the highest degree of combat readiness."
- On December 27, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine said that the situation on the border with Belarus is controlled, but tense, because there is a build-up of tension there together with the Russian Federation by demonstrating joint training activities of military units.
