According to the press officer of the State Service of Ukraine, Oleksandr Khorunzhyi, who shared the information on the United News national telethon, 11 people were killed and the same number of people were injured in Russia's attacks on January 26.
"Today, as a result of Russian terrorist attacks, both Russian drones and missiles struck 11 regions. Eleven people were injured and 11 people were killed. This is the information as of 3:00 p.m.," noted Oleksandr Khorunzhyi.
Earlier, local authorities and police informed about the attack.
As of ten o'clock in the morning, the militants fired more than 15 cruise missiles in the direction of Kyiv.
"Thanks to the excellent work of air defense, all air targets were shot down! However, the danger of air strikes has not gone away. Stay in shelters until the alert is over," said Serhiy Popko, head of the Kyiv city military administration.
At 10:07 a.m., Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported an explosion.
"An explosion in Kyiv! Stay in shelters!" he wrote.
Later, Klitschko clarified that the explosions occurred in Kyiv’s Dniprovskyi district. All services are being sent to the scene.
Later, at 10:39 a.m., the Kyiv City Military Administration reported that a part of the missile fell in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi district.
"According to preliminary information, a man (55 years old) was killed in the Holosiivskyi district by the fall of a missile fragment. We also know about two injured people, they were provided with medical assistance," the administration said.
In turn, fragments of Russian missiles were found in several districts of the region. Preliminary data stated there were no casualties by the aggressor's attack. Police officers are inspecting the scene, said Kyiv police chief Andrii Nebytov.
As of 12:00 p.m., the Kyiv City Military Administration reported 20 air targets in the sky over the capital, all shot down by Ukrainian air defense. All critical infrastructure facilities are operating as usual.
Later, the administration clarified that the attack damaged civilian infrastructure, private houses and high-rise buildings, as well as cars.
"Mostly, windows were shattered, roofs and facades were damaged. The consequences of the massive attacks are being established. Also, a power facility was hit," the administration added.
Emergency power outages are currently in effect in the Kyiv region.
The head of the regional administration, Serhiy Borzov, said that Russian missiles hit the Vinnytsia region. There are no casualties.
All operational services are working on the spot.
The Vinnytsia City Council, in turn, urged not to spread any information about the explosions in the city and to stay in shelters until the alarm is lifted.
"Please do not share any information and stay in shelters until the alarm is dismissed!" the statement reads.
Earlier, Vinnytsia Mayor Serhiy Morhunov reported on the air defense system: "Stay in a safe place until the alarm goes off and stay calm." And Serhiy Borzov wrote that the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine controls the airspace over the Vinnytsia region.
Yurii Kruk, the head of the District Military Administration, informs that there is damage to two energy infrastructure facilities in Odesa.
“Dear residents of the Odesa region, the enemy continues to fire missiles at the territory of Ukraine from the sky and the sea. There is already information about the damage to 2 objects of critical energy infrastructure of Odesa,” the message says.
It is reported that there are no victims.
Air defense is operating over the territory of Odesa.
In addition, local telegram channels report that air defense systems have been activated in the Dnipro region.
Earlier, the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, claimed: "These are the first shootdowns of Russian missiles."
The Defense Ministry of Ukraine urged not to disseminate the operation of air defense systems and the consequences of Russian strikes online. The ministry emphasized that photos and videos should not be sent to any Telegram chats and bots, as Russia is closely monitoring the information space.
