Massive Russian arsenals found on the borderline of Chernihiv region
Russian arsenals, in particular a Kalashnikov machine gun, ammunition, dozens of boxes with rockets and ammunition for Grad MLRS were found on the border of Chernihiv region
This was reported by the State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
"The Security Service found new caches with Russian munitions as a result of counter-sabotage measures in the border areas of Chernihiv region. The occupiers left the hidden arsenals while escaping from the northern regions of Ukraine during the counteroffensive of the Defense Forces," the service writes.
In particular, in one of the settlements of the Mena territorial community, almost 300 artillery ammunition and Grad multiple rocket launchers were found.
The SBU found more than a hundred charges for hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers in a forest near Chernihiv. And in the district, at the former Russian checkpoint, they found a Kalashnikov tank machine gun and more than 1,500 rounds of ammunition.
In addition, law enforcement officers found an RPG-26 anti-tank rocket launcher and almost 300 rounds of ammunition of various calibers in an abandoned building in Koryukivka district.
All seized items were handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
- On September 16, two Russian caches with plastid, ammunition and mines were discovered in the de-occupied border area of the Chernihiv region.
- On October 28, two caches with ammunition, TNT, grenades and electric detonators were discovered in the Chernihiv region.
- In November, the SBU discovered over 100 mines in the liberated districts of the Mykolaiv region, which the enemy hid in schools; explosives caches were also found in hospitals.
