Mariupol official reports hits in city’s suburbs and airport area
On the evening of Friday, May 19, an explosion occurred in the suburbs of Mariupol and near an airport
The video was posted on Telegram by Petro Andriushchenko, an advisor to the mayor of Mariupol.
"Mariupol. Good evening. Explosion. Even the faulty air defense system did not help. The occupiers were not choosing the pope by the color of the smoke. But they tried very hard. What a beautiful evening," Andriushchenko writes.
After that, there was information about hits near an airport.
At least 150 Russian soldiers have been previously detected at the base. The airport was consistently used to install air defense systems.
