Map of hostilities in Ukraine as of July 4-8
The so-called operational pause does not prevent Russian forces from advancing along the entire frontline in Donetsk region, although without any advance. Even more, Ukrainian Armed Forces counterattacked in two places to the east.
Kharkiv
Fierce fighting continues in the Kharkiv direction without much progress by either the Ukrainian Armed Forces or Russian troops. The hottest places were Dementiivka, Pytomnyk, Ruska Lozova, Verkhniy and Stary Saltiv.
Since in some places Russian forces managed to get closer than 20 km to the city, every day Kharkiv is bombarded with all possible types of weapons: artillery, anti-aircraft missiles and air rocket strikes. So, on July 8, a rocket attack destroyed the educational building of the Kharkiv National Pedagogical University named after Skovorody, one of the oldest universities in the city.

Unable to get closer to the city, the invaders try to bypass the defenses from the left flank and conduct an assault in the Sosnivka direction. At the same time, all the efforts of the occupiers to fulfill the main task - to deprive the Ukrainian Armed Forces of the opportunity to cut the main supply route of the Izyum group, which runs through Vovchansk - Velikiy Burluk - Kupyansk, are currently unsuccessful. Therefore, for reinforcements, the other day they transferred the 80th Motorized Rifle Brigade, which was stationed as far as Murmansk, near Belgorod in full.
Donetsk region
Russian forces continue to press Slovyansk from the north, and it is also expected that in the near future they will attack Raihorodok, which is 10 km from Slovyansk. However, for now, these are only threats and attempts. In reality, in two weeks on this front, the enemy has not advanced anywhere, except for the occupation of part of the small village of Mazanivka. Local battles are being fought along the line Mazanivka – Dolyna – Krasnopillya – Borogodichne. According to the Russian forces, Bogorodychne was already in their hands a few weeks ago, but they still cannot get a foothold in it. Our troops, who have occupied the commanding heights, knock out the orcs from the center of the village every time, using the same tactics as before in Severodonetsk. At the same time, Slovyansk and Kramatorsk are under almost daily missile terror, which takes many peaceful lives. On July 7, the enemy struck the central part of both cities. The mayor of Slovyansk urged local residents to evacuate.

Bilogorivka is the last island of the Luhansk region, which is under the control of Ukraine and has been bearing the brunt of the Russian invasion for a week. Russian forces are trying to take control of the villages of Bilogorivka, Hryhorivka and Serebryanka, which are located along the Siversky Donets, in order to reach the northern outskirts of Siversk. They are also storming Verkhnokamyansk to approach Siversk from the east. And even further south they are trying to seize Spirne. The occupation of 10,000-strong Siversk will make it possible to drive a wedge between Slovyansk and Bakhmut, as well as turn the city into a center of concentration of forces to attack Bakhmut from the north, and Slovyansk from the east. At the same time, Russian forces are trying to bypass Bakhmut from the south. After capturing Klynove village, they expanded their offensive in the direction of Vesela Dolyna and Vershyn.

In the meantime, the new armament of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is making impossible the rapid Russian onslaught in the Donetsk region. Almost every day, 2-3 warehouses explode, some of them are quite significant, and the cannonade lasts from half a day to several days. Here is an incomplete list of blown-up warehouses in the Donetsk region this week. In Donetsk itself, a warehouse was blown up, and the next day also an oil depot, later a warehouse in Shakhtarsk was detonated for a long time, then there were Yasinuvata and Makiivka, Kadiivka and Snizhne.
Instead, Russia bombards Toretsk, Nyu York, Pokrovsk and Bakhmut, other large frontline cities. Instead, experts claim that Russia has only 2,000 medium- and long-range missiles, i.e. from 500 km and beyond. And they have already used another 5,000 rockets in one way or another.
Southern front
Ukrainian forces are pressing Russian troops along the entire line of the southern front, from Vugledar in the Donetsk region to Visokopyll in the Kherson region. The offensive is taking place gradually, without unnecessary losses in personnel. The other day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces almost made a breakthrough in the eastern direction for the first time and liberated Solodke village, which is 10 km from the Donetsk - Mariupol highway and 20 km from the regional center of Volnovakha.

Another bridge was blown up in Novobohdanivka, between Melitopol and Tokmak. Thus, both railway tracks from Melitopol to the north became blocked. The Ukrainians are also advancing towards Pologiv and Tokmak. In Melitopol itself, an important military facility was hit, in which more than a hundred enemies were eliminated.
In the north of the Kherson region, about 2,000 Russian soldiers, concentrated between Visokopillya and Arkhangelsk, may find themselves in an operational environment.
All this is accompanied by the pleasant sounds of warehouse explosions in Chornobayivka and in Kherson itself, near the railway station, as well as in Nova Kakhovka. The other day, the Ukrainian military struck the Russian strongholds and warehouses in the Mykolaiv and Kherson regions.

Russia, on the other hand, does not stop thinking about an attack on Mykolaiv and Kryvyi Rih district, regularly shelling their surroundings and the city center. In Mykolaiv, 7 high-rise buildings were damaged.
This week, 4 rockets hit the water tower in Khmelnytsky. However, Ukrainian air defense shot down 6 missiles over Dnipropetrovsk region, 3 over Odesa region and one more over the sea.
The maps were created on the basis of information received from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as other open and verified sources. At the same time, the maps are not as accurate as possible and only tentatively reflect trends in the war zone.
