Many countries are dissatisfied with Russia's presence in the UN - diplomat Yelchenko
Russia became a world-class aggressor long before the start of war against Ukraine, so many countries have reasons to be dissatisfied with the fact that the Russian Federation is a member of the UN
Diplomat, former permanent representative of Ukraine to the UN Volodymyr Yelchenko told this live on air of Espreso TV channel.
"System of collective security, which was created in 1945 through the establishement of the UN and signing of the organization's charter, has been defiled by actions of the Russian Federation. These actions began long before aggression against Ukraine. Libya, Kosovo, Balkans in general, Syria. I am not talking about Georgia in 2008," he noted.
According to the diplomat, Russia became a world-class aggressor long before the start of war against Ukraine.
"I would also mention the Middle East as a whole and African countries - PMC Wagner in Mali and the Central African Republic. Also Venezuela. "Fluffy" Russian hands are reaching everywhere. There are many countries and regions in the world that have every reason to be absolutely dissatisfied with the fact that the Russian Federation is a member of the UN. But it still sits in the Security Council and abuses the right of veto at every step," Yelchenko concluded.
