Macron to Ukraine: “In the coming year, we will support you”

“I want to say here and today on behalf of the citizens of France to our Ukrainian friends: we respect you and admire you. Your struggle and defense of your nation is heroic and inspires us. And next year we will support you. We will help you win and work together to build a just and strong world. Count on France and count on Europe,” said the country's president.

Macron said that the world is currently experiencing "difficult times" and called on the French to unite to overcome challenges and difficulties together. The leader called Russia's war against Ukraine one of these challenges.  He also emphasized France's support for Ukraine and Ukrainians.

“Throughout this year, France, together with Europe, has carried the voice of right and freedom in support of Ukraine; thousands of us have shown solidarity by welcoming refugees fleeing the Russian invasion into our cities and villages,” said Emmanuel Macron.
