Lviv paratroopers show how they neutralize Russian military grouping

Reference. The 80th Detached Airborne Assault Brigade is a military unit within the Airborne Assault Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Based in Lviv.

In the early 1990s, the unit was a training center, later transformed into a brigade. In the 1990s and 2000s, it participated in international exercises and peacekeeping missions.

In the spring of 2014, it was among the first to be raised to repel Russian aggression, the units were sent to the northeastern borders of Ukraine. Servicemen of the brigade took part in the first battle of the war in Donbas - on April 13, 2014, near Semenivka, later they took part in the battles for Slovyansk. Other units of the brigade were stationed in the Luhansk region, where they fought in the areas of Metalist, Georgiyivka and Lutugyne, Luhansk Airport, Novosvitlivka and Khryashchuvate. In the fall of 2014, the fighters of the brigade were ambushed near Veselaya Gora, and later took part in the battles for the 32nd checkpoint.

Since 2016, the brigade has been reformed into an amphibious assault brigade and received a tank unit.
