Local authorities comment on drone crash in Moscow region
Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov confirmed the downing of the drone and said that the target was a civilian infrastructure facility
He wrote about this on Telegram.
He also noted that the case is being investigated by the FSB.
"As to the incident with the downing of a UAV in the Kolomna urban district: it happened near the village of Gubastovo, the target was probably a civilian infrastructure facility, it was not damaged. There were no casualties or damage on the ground. The FSB and other competent authorities are dealing with the situation, the safety of the residents is not in danger," the statement said.
Earlier, Russian media reported that a UJ-22 Airborne attack drone went down in the Kolomna district of Moscow region. Its maximum flight range is 800 km, and its speed is about 130-10 km/h. Russian media report that such drones are manufactured by the Ukrainian company Ukrjet.
The drone reportedly fell 10 meters from the fence of a Gazprom gas compressor station. The cause of the crash was probably a sudden loss of altitude due to running out of fuel. After that, the drone caught on trees, damaged its wing and fell.
It is currently unknown where the drone came from and who owns it. According to Russian media, there was no explosion as a result of the crash.
