After Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a fundraiser to create a fleet of naval drones, Lithuanians had already raised USD 500,000 to purchase two marine drones
News on the second marine drone was reported by Lithuanian journalist and public activist Andrius Tapinas.
Earlier, Lithuanians purchased a sea drone for Ukraine for USD 250,000. The drone was named "PEACE Дец (PEACE Dec)". This name received the most votes.
"Lithuanians are on fire. After providing Ukraine with the marine drone "PEACE Дец" we raised another $250K for a second one named "Yes to peace" or "PEACE Да," Andrius Tapinas said on Twitter.
Tapinas added that the third drone, which has already raised 40,000 will be called "PEACE Дюк" ("Duke of Peace").
The fundraising campaign turned out to be popular among Lithuanians as they can name the drones.
They use wordplay to make their names sound like Russian swear words.
