Leaving Russian occupation costs between UAH 20,000-30,000 per person
According to Mayor Ivan Fedorov of Melitopol, the trip from Russian-controlled areas to liberated territories spans multiple routes and typically lasts about 5 days, with a price ranging from EUR 500 to EUR 750 per person
It was reported by Fedorov on Telegram.
"We document residents leaving the occupied areas, providing valuable assistance. This involves guiding them on routes, leveraging information from locals about the ease or difficulty of various checkpoints. Additionally, our international partners have long supported us in compensating individuals, as this can be a costly journey, reaching up to 20-30 thousand hryvnias per person," he stated.
Fedorov highlighted that departure from the temporary occupied territories is viable through Crimea or the Melitopol – Mariupol – Novoazovsk route, leading to destinations such as Georgia, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, or back to Ukraine through the Kolotylivka – Pokrovka pedestrian crossing on the Russia-Sumy region border.
Upon returning to Ukrainian-controlled territory, individuals are registered at humanitarian centers. These centers assist with document processing and provide essential humanitarian aid.
