Kursk operation came at “extremely high” price — Ukraine’s former commander Zaluzhnyi

He wrote about this in a column for Dzerkalo Tyzhnia.
“Such actions can certainly be undertaken where the human cost is judged acceptable and the objectives tightly limited. But experience shows that an isolated tactical breach on a narrow sector rarely produces the operational success the attacker seeks,” Zaluzhnyi noted.
He added that Russian forces were later able to exploit their tactical and technological advantages, preventing a Ukrainian tactical breakthrough from turning into an operational success. Although, Russia's own tactical advances also did not result in operational success.
“I do not know the exact price paid for those actions, but it is plain that it was extremely high,” the former Commander-in-Chief added.
- On August 5, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi spoke about the results of Ukraine’s Kursk operation on the anniversary of its launch.
