Kremlin needs NATO clash to justify losing to Ukraine – Polish political scientist
Polish political scientist and journalist Jakub Korejba believes that Russia is creating various military provocations to involve the Polish army in active actions against the Belarusian forces
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"Belarus has long been an instrument of the Kremlin's policy. Lukashenko is losing his subjectivity. The only benefit from Lukashenko is that he formally still preserves Belarus as an independent state. It is clear that the Kremlin is looking for opportunities to officially occupy Belarus, and it is looking for opportunities to do so. That is, it is creating various military provocations to involve the Polish army in active actions against the Belarusian forces," emphasized Korejba.
According to the political scientist, Russia needs to find an explanation for its defeat in the so-called ‘special military operation’, because its strategic goals have not been achieved.
"The Russian leadership needs to somehow explain to the Russians why they lost. In a normal country, the media informs about foreign and military policy, but in Russia it's the other way around. There, the Russian army serves the media by creating newsworthy events. The Kremlin needs a clash with NATO to explain to its people that Russia lost not to Ukraine, but to NATO. So far, the Polish leadership has been observing Russian provocations and taking military and administrative measures. But we understand that provocations by Russia will increase," Korejba said.
