Russian leader’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement to reporters, according to TASS.
"By providing any security guarantees to Ukraine, these countries are actually ignoring the international principle of the indivisibility of security. That is, by providing security guarantees to Ukraine, they encroach on Russia's security," he said.
According to Peskov, this will have short-term and long-term negative consequences.
Putin's spokesman expressed hope that Europe would hear the voices of politicians who oppose providing Ukraine with security guarantees.
