Russian losses in Ukraine war reach record levels in September — UK intelligence
UK intelligence has registered a new record for the Russian army's average daily losses in Ukraine in September 2024
The UK Defense Ministry reported the information.
According to the report, in September 2024, the average daily casualty rate of the Russian army was 1,271 people per day, exceeding the previous maximum of 1,262 people recorded in May this year.
Since the beginning of the war, Russia's total losses have exceeded 648,000 servicemen.
UK intelligence estimated that the increase in casualties in September was likely due to the expansion of hostilities in the Kharkiv and Kursk sectors, as well as the intensification of fighting along the entire front line.
Despite the onset of winter, experts predict that the average daily losses of the Russian army will likely remain over 1,000 people per day until the end of 2024.
"So far, winter conditions have not led to a reduction in offensive operations or casualties due to Russia's reliance on airborne tactics and lack of maneuver warfare, which requires better conditions," the intelligence noted.
- Over the past day, the Russian army lost dozens of units of its equipment and more than 1,100 soldiers at the front.
