Russian army loses 6 tanks, 38 artillery systems and over 1,100 soldiers in one day of Ukraine war

Over the last day, 94 combat clashes took place in the frontline. Ukrainian defenders repelled a number of Russian attacks in seven directions and eliminated more than 1,100 invading Russian troops

This is stated in the morning report of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff.

The total combat losses of the Russian Federation from 24.02.22 to 27.04.24 are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 465,054 (+1124) people,
  • tanks - 7,268 (+6) 
  • armored combat vehicles - 13,971 (+14) 
  • artillery systems - 11,905 (+38) 
  • MLRS - 1,049 (+0)
  • air defense systems - 775 (+3)
  • aircraft - 348 (+0) 
  • helicopters - 325 (+0) 
  • UAVs of operational and tactical level - 9,485 (+24)
  • cruise missiles - 2,124 (+5),
  • ships/boats - 26 (+0) 
  • submarines - 1 (+0) 
  • motor vehicles and tankers - 16,019 (+35)
  • special equipment - 1,968 (+6).

Frontline situation: Most Russian attacks come in Avdiivka sector over last day

According to the General Staff, the operational situation in the northern Ukrainian border remains without significant changes.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts subversive activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas.

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 10 attacks near Kyslivka and Berestove in Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region.

In the Lyman direction, the Russian army attacked the Ukrainian positions 14 times near 1 locality in Kharkiv region; 2 localities in Luhansk region and 2 more in Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian troops rebuffed 10 attacks in the vicinity of Bilohorivka in Luhansk region and 5 more settlements in Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 29 attacks in the areas of Arkhanhelske, Keramik, Ocheretyne, Semenivka, Umanske and Kalynove.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back their enemy near Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Prechystivka and Urozhayne, where the Russian troops tried to break through the Ukrainian defense 17 times.

In the Orikhiv direction, the occupation forces attacked the Ukrainian troops' positions 3 times near Staromayorske in Donetsk region and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia.

In the Kherson direction, Russia does not abandon its intention to drive Ukrainian units from their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Thus, over the past day, they launched four unsuccessful attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops.

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers continue to inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, depleting the Russian enemy along the entire front line.

Russian attacks across Ukraine

In total, the Russian forces launched 12 missile and 76 air strikes over the last day, firing 83 times from multiple launch rocket systems at Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas.

At night, the Russian occupation forces launched another massive attack on Ukraine, using cruise missiles of various types. Information on this attack is being clarified.

Over the past day, 1 locality in Sumy region and the city of Sumy, 7 populated areas in Kharkiv region, 2 in Luhansk region, 16 in Donetsk region, 1 in Zaporizhzhia region, and 2 in Kherson region were subjected to air strikes.

More than 110 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire.

Destruction of Russian facilities

Over the past day, Ukrainian military aviation struck 14 areas where Russian personnel were concentrated.

The missile troops hit 2 areas of personnel concentration, a radar station, an ammunition depot, 3 air defense facilities, an electronic warfare station, and a Russian logistics depot.

  • In the evening and on the night of April 27, the occupation troops launched missiles from strategic and tactical aircraft at the territory of Ukraine. The Russians attacked energy facilities in three regions and a hospital in Kharkiv, injuring at least 2 people.
