As of 11:00 p.m. on April 26, an air alert was declared throughout Ukraine.

The missiles were maneuvering in the central and western regions of Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Khmelnytskyi.

Suspilne reported that explosions were heard in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.

At midnight, the air raid alert was called off.

Activity of strategic bombers

At 12:55 a.m., the air force reported Tu-95MS activity from the Olenya airfield (Murmansk region).

"They are flying in the southeast direction. In case of a missile threat and cruise missile launches, we will report additionally," the military added.

At about 3:45 a.m., an air alert was announced throughout Ukraine. The military warned of a missile threat. The first missile entered the airspace of Ukraine in the Chernihiv region and then headed west through Kyiv region. Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, and Kyiv regions were under the sights. The other missiles were heading through Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Poltava regions. Later on, they were heading for Mykolaiv and Zaporizhzhia.

At about 5:20 a.m., the missiles were in the skies of Khmelnytskyi and Ternopil regions, heading west. At 5:28 a.m., the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration reported missiles in the sky over the region.

Activity of Russian tactical bombers

At about 5:10 a.m., a MiG-31K took off from the Savasleyka airfield (Nizhny Novgorod region).

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia had launched Kinzhal missiles across the Zhytomyr region in a southwesterly direction! They especially emphasized the danger to Stryi in the Lviv region.

Local publics reported on air defense activities in Lviv and Ternopil regions.

At around 6:00 a.m., an all-clear signal was given throughout Ukraine.

Attack on Kharkiv

On the morning air of Espreso, Bohdan Tkachuk, a deputy of the Kharkiv District Council, clarified that Russia's troops targeted not the northern part of Saltivka, but actually the city center, near a supermarket and a crowded intersection. Nearby, in the 3rd psychiatric hospital, one patient was injured, her head was cut by glass fragments.

"As for the other patients or employees, they were not injured, if we are talking about their physical condition, if we are talking about their psychological condition, because this is a specialized institution, we understand that it is very difficult for them to hear loud explosions, a blast wave. It's hard to say how they affect the condition of these patients. I would like to remind you that many of these patients were transferred from the village of Strilecha which is on the border with Russia and was under occupation; about 640 patients have severe forms of diseases. It was very difficult for them because they were abused by the occupiers, they were without light and food for several months, and then they were taken to the territory of Ukraine," explained Tkachuk.

At the same time, Tkachuk said that Russia is trying to destroy the remaining heat and power generation facilities.

The Russians struck the hospital in Kharkiv with S-300 missiles. The preliminary findings of explosive experts were reported by the local police.

"The attack damaged the building of the medical institution, which was not operating, the catering department and the building where 60 patients and five hospital staff were staying at the time of the attack. Patients were transferred from the damaged premises to other buildings," the police said in a statement.

Consequences of the attack in Dnipropetrovsk region

According to the head of the Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, at dawn Dnipro region experienced another massive attack.  Air defense forces destroyed 13 missiles in Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih and Pavlohrad districts.

However, it was not without consequences. For example, energy facilities in Dniprovskyi and Kryvyi Rih districts were damaged. There were several fires.

As a result, a 39-year-old man was injured. He was hospitalized in moderate condition.

In addition, there are interruptions in water supply in Kryvyi Rih.

Attack on energy facilities

Later, the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy reported that the Russian forces had attacked the energy infrastructure once again that night.

In particular, facilities in Dnipro, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Lviv regions were attacked.

It is noted that there is damage to equipment. At one of the facilities, a shift supervisor was wounded - the power engineer sustained a concussion.

DTEK's press service confirmed serious damage to equipment at four Ukrainian thermal power plants and the presence of victims of the Russian attack.

DTEK added that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, DTEK's thermal power plants have been shelled more than 170 times.

Attack on infrastructure in Ivano-Frankivsk region

Svitlana Onyshchuk, head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Military Administration, reported the attack on the Prykarpattia region. According to her, the Russians targeted a critical infrastructure facility in the region at night.

The strike damaged the building and caused a fire over 200 square meters. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

Missiles in the Lviv region

According to the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, during the air alert that lasted from 3:58 to 6:02 a.m., the region was hit by cruise missiles of various classes and Kinzhal air defense missiles.

Three cruise missiles were shot down by air defense, but there were also hits.

Thus, Russia attacked two critical energy infrastructure facilities in Stryi and Chervonohrad districts. Fires broke out there. The State Emergency Service units quickly extinguished the fires. There is destruction.

Kozytskyi emphasized that there are no casualties, injuries, or destruction of residential infrastructure in the Lviv region. Life support systems in the region are operating normally. There are no emergency power outages at the moment.
