Russian army loses 1,030 soldiers, 27 artillery systems, 25 UAVs in one day of war — Ukraine's General Staff

Over the past day, at least 67 combat clashes took place between the two armies on the frontline. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces are holding the line in 7 areas

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on March 27.

The total combat losses of the Russian Federation from 24.02.22 to 27.03.24 are approximately:

  • personnel - about 439,190 (+1,030) people,
  • tanks - 6,904 (+11) 
  • armored combat vehicles - 13,216 (+9) 
  • artillery systems - 10,931 (+27)
  • MLRS - 1,019 (+0) 
  • air defense systems - 728 (+1) 
  • aircraft - 347 (+0) 
  • helicopters - 325 (+0) 
  • UAVs of operational and tactical level - 8,578 (+25),
  • cruise missiles - 2,015 (+1),
  • ships/boats - 26 (+0) 
  • submarines - 1 (+0) 
  • motor vehicles and fuel tankers - 14,539 (+41) 
  • special equipment - 1,794 (+45).

General Staff's report: Russia intensifies its activity on Novopavlivka and Lyman directions

The operational situation has not changed in the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian forces made one unsuccessful attack on the Ukrainian troops' positions near Ivanivka, Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 13 hostile attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region; Terny, Yampolivka, and north of Vesele, Donetsk region, where the Russian troops, with the support of aviation, tried to break through the Ukrainian defense.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukraine rebuffed 7 Russian attacks in the areas of Ivanivske, Bohdanivka and Klishchiivka in Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 9 attacks in the vicinity of 4 settlements in the Donetsk region.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces keep holding back the Russian enemy near Novomykhailivka, Heorhiivka and Urozhaine, where the Russian army, supported by air power, tried to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops 26 times.

In the Orikhiv direction, the Russian troops, with the support of aviation, attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders 7 times near Staromayorske in Donetsk region; Robotyne and northwest of Verbove in Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, Russia does not abandon its intention to drive Ukrainian units from their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Over the past day, it launched 3 unsuccessful attacks on the Ukrainian troops' positions near Krynky, Kherson region.

The Russian army launched 5 missile and 74 air strikes on the Ukrainian territory

Over the past day, 67 combat clashes took place on the front.

In total, over the past day, Russia launched 5 missile and 74 air strikes, fired 152 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, the Russian terrorist attacks resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population.

At night, Russian occupation forces attacked Ukraine once again, using 13 Shahed UAVs. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 10 UAVs.

Over the past day, 3 settlements in Kharkiv region, 1 in Luhansk region, 15 in Donetsk region and 1 in Zaporizhzhia region were subjected to air strikes.

More than 130 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire.

Ukraine's Defense Forces destroyed Russian air defense and artillery units

Over the past day, the aviation of the Defense Forces struck 2 control points and 8 areas of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration.

Missile troops destroyed 1 air defense vehicle, 1 artillery vehicle and 1 Russian ammunition depot.

  • Over the course of March 26, 50 combat clashes took place at the front. Russians tried to storm the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces 48 times in six directions. Of these, 21 were in Novopavlivske.
