Kherson journalist Anton Kolomiets is killed defending Ukraine
Kherson journalist and director Anton Kolomiets, who went to defend Ukraine with arms in his hands, died at the front
This was reported on Facebook by the Ukrainian National Council of TV and Radio Broadcasting.
"From the first days of the full-scale war, he defended the motherland by joining the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Anton Kolomiets received a degree in television directing at Kherson State University. He worked at the Scythia TV channel, which later became the Kherson branch of the Public TV channel. For 6 years, he was a weather forecaster on the TV channel, giving Kherson residents a good mood every morning. He was also a director of live broadcasts," the statement reads.
The warrior is survived by his wife and two young sons.
Oleksandr Spivakovsky, Rector of Kherson State University, where Anton Kolomiets graduated, expressed condolences to his family and friends.
"Anton was a graduate of the Faculty of Culture and Arts, a television director and worked as a laboratory assistant at the faculty. Eternal and bright memory to the warrior, a real man, colleague, friend, father... Condolences to the family and friends. Indescribable pain. The best defend in Ukraine, are people of peaceful creative professions who give their lives for our freedom... We will not forgive! Glory to the Hero!" Spivakovsky wrote.
The journalist's colleague Olena Yudina posted on Facebook the details of Anton Kolomiyets' wife's card, calling to support his family.
"Unfortunately, heroes die too... Anton was one of them, he stood up to defend our country, our Kherson region, where he was well known and loved because no Kherson resident left home for 6 years in a row without his weather forecasts, no new day began without his traditional "And may everything be well with you". The broadcasts with him were "charged with positive", a smile did not hide from the face of either him, the hosts, or the guests. Anton was always with Ukraine in his heart, proudly wore embroidered shirts, sang Ukrainian songs and appreciated everything OUR. He died for peace in Ukraine. Anton is survived by a wonderful family, two small children - sons, whom he was so proud of, and now they will be proud of their father, who fought for a peaceful life for them. Let's support his family in this difficult hour," Olena Yudina wrote.
