Russian army amasses reserves in Kharkiv region - Ukrainian military
Ivan Tymochko, serviceman and chairman of the Reservists' Council of the Ukrainian Land Forces, says the Russian army is trying to maximize the use of resources and reserves to minimize the retreat of its troops
He spoke about this on Espreso TV on June 13.
"Until recently, the Russian occupation army was conducting offensive operations in the Kharkiv sector, which have since been halted. The Russian troops are being pushed back in the areas of Lyptsi and Vovchansk. Russia is bringing in reserves to this area, trying to maximize their resources to minimize the retreat of Russian troops,” Tymochko said.
He added that the Russian forces think they can bring military engineering equipment close to the front line for operations, which is why many pieces of destroyed Russian equipment are left behind.
"We're observing an interesting trend: if a week or two ago, the General Staff of the Armed Forces reported that the number of Russian casualties was at least 1,100-1,300, now the number of Russian troops we are eliminating is about 900-950, less than a thousand. This indicates that while the tension and intensity remain, and reserves have been used, the Russians will soon have to either withdraw the remaining troops, start some kind of mobilization, or face the exhaustion of their offensive capabilities,” Tymochko concluded.
- Since June 13 began, there have been 37 skirmishes on the front, 8 of them in the Pokrovsk direction. Fighting continues near the village of Kalynove.
