Deputy commander of the composite artillery battalion of the Burevii brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, Ihor Makovskyi, said this on Espreso.

“If we characterize the entire Kupiansk direction, the situation there is very tense. The enemy sees this axis as one of its priorities and is pulling in all forces and resources to achieve its goal — to enter this territory and capture it,” Makovskyi noted.

According to him, the occupying Russian forces are using various tactics, trying to act in small groups to concentrate forces at certain points and then advance further and break through defenders’ positions.

“Enemy assaults occur every day. Depending on the sections held by different brigades, the intensity of fighting changes: sometimes the attacks are more massive, sometimes less active, but there is never complete silence.

The Defense Forces are doing everything possible to prevent the enemy’s advance. For now, it can be said that they are succeeding. However, the situation remains very tense,” Makovskyi stressed.

  • Commander of the 429th separate unmanned systems regiment Achilles, Yurii Fedorenko, added that Ukraine’s Defense Forces damaged and flooded an underground pipe near Kupiansk used by Russian troops. Enemy movement through the pipe is no longer observed.
