Kazakhstan develops ways to transport oil to Europe bypassing Russian Federation
The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, has instructed the government to find new oil supply routes bypassing the Russian Federation in response to Russia's blocking of Kazakh exports to Europe.

Reuters reported the news.
"A halt to the pipeline, which carries oil from Kazakhstan’s vast Tengiz Field across Russia to the Black Sea, would strain the oil market just as it faces one of the worst supply crunches since the Arab oil embargo in the 1970s," the report said.
According to Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the country has made it a strategic task to improve the port infrastructure on the Caspian Sea, although Kazakhstan has never been a maritime country.
Tokayev added that the initiative is due to the decision of the Russian court to stop the operation of the terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium for 30 days and to completely block the access of Kazakh oil to the European market through the Russian Federation.
