Joint exercises of Russian and Belarusian military shouldn’t be perceived as attack threat on Kyiv
Kyiv сity military administration’s head Serhiy Popko warned that Russian and Belarusian military exercises in Belarus shouldn’t be perceived as a direct threat of a new offensive on the capital
This was reported by the Kyiv City Military Administration.
"The Ukrainian top military and political leadership doesn’t rule out attempts of Russian offensive new wave. Intelligence states, Russia is preparing a new wave of mobilization for this purpose. Also, 150 thousand previously mobilized are already being trained at training grounds," the press service said.
Popko warned that the Russian and Belarusian military exercises in Belarus shouldn’t be perceived as a direct threat of a new offensive:
"I want to tell you that every month of 2022 and the beginning of 2023 is a decisive month for us. We have withstood, endured, stopped and rejected the Russian invasion since February 2022. We do not remove the threat while the war continues and while you know that a new round of mobilization in Russia is predicted. Until the threat is removed. In Belarus, joint exercises of the Belarusian and Russian armies are continuously conducted. But the relevant military leaders are taking certain measures in terms of command’s training and control bodies, accumulation of material and technical means and equipment of the territory to prevent and preempt the Russian actions. I would not associate these exercises of the air forces, which will be on the territory of Belarus, with massive missile strikes. We can expect them at any time. We are creating an appropriate echelon system to prevent critical damage to infrastructure facilities by air forces and other air defense forces," he stressed.
