Johnson announced the return of the British Embassy to Kyiv
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced the return of the British Embassy to Kyiv
It is reported by The Guardian.
According to preliminary data, after more than two months, Britain should resume the work of its embassy in Kyiv.
After the embassy was closed in February, the country maintained a diplomatic presence in Ukraine.
However, personal consular assistance services ceased to be provided at that time.
The British Foreign Office then reported that the embassy was temporarily moving, and employees were working from the embassy office in Lviv.
The embassy is expected to reopen early next month after Russian forces were driven back or withdrawn from the region around Kyiv in the face of Ukrainian resistance.
The announcement, made by the prime minister at a press conference in India, also came after his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during an unannounced visit to Kyiv in early April.
