The diplomats confirmed that a 20-year-old Japanese volunteer was killed on Wednesday. Before that, the Embassy of Japan in Kyiv conducted a check of messages on social networks about his death.
Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno said at a press conference that the embassy is providing information and support to the family of the deceased.
In addition, he noted that Japan previously issued a warning about the evacuation of citizens from the entire territory of Ukraine.
“We urge our citizens not to travel to Ukraine for any purpose. Those who are in the country should evacuate immediately,” Matsuno said.
