Japan allocates USD 95 million for Ukraine's reconstruction
The Japanese government has allocated USD 95 million for Ukraine's reconstruction, which will be sent to the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) as part of a partnership agreement
Ukraine's Ministry of Infrastructure reported this.
On January 12, the partnership agreement, under which Ukraine was allocated USD 95 million, was signed by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine Kuninori Matsuda and Assistant to the Head of UNDP, Director of the Regional Office of UNDP in Europe and the CIS Ivana Živković with the participation of the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov.
“While the Armed Forces of Ukraine are liberating the territories from the occupiers, the government, together with international partners, is working on the implementation of "survival projects" - restoring transport links with the liberated regions, creating conditions for the return of citizens to their houses, and supporting the economy in the regions.
It is important to feel the consolidation of the entire civilized world around the struggle of our country against the Russian terrorist regime. The partnership of Ukraine, Japan and the United Nations Development Programme is an example of effective cooperation that allows not only to counter the enemy, but also to gradually restore the destroyed,” Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine - Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov said.
It is reported that the assistance program focuses on key areas. In particular, strengthening the government's capacity to respond to and manage the crisis, supporting public services so that they can work, restoring critical infrastructure, strengthening civil society and social ties, and supporting private enterprises so that they support communities.
