Italy freezes EUR 1.7 billion worth of Russian assets since February 24
Since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia, the Italian Financial Guard has frozen over EUR 1.7 billion worth of Russian assets
This was reported by the European Truth with references to Il Sole 24 Ore.
It is known that starting from February 23 the Italian Financial Guard started an investigation on individuals and legal entities included in the EU sanctions lists.
In total, Italian law enforcement officers have looked into over 1,100 people suspected of violating Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
As of May 31, Italy had frozen the property of 14 Russian businessmen, including real estate, vehicles, yachts, planes, land and shares in companies. The total value of frozen property is over EUR 1.7 billion.
