Italian police confiscated yachts and villas of Usmanov, Mordashov, Tymchenko and propagandist Solovyov
Yachts and villas worth at least 140 million euros were confiscated by Italian police from 4 Russians, who were put on the EU sanction list after Moscow`s attack on Ukraine.
News agency Reuters reported about this.
The publication reports that the villa of billionaire businessman Alisher Usmanov located on the Mediterranean island Sardinia was confiscated. Moreover, the sources confirmed that yachts owned by the richest man in Russia Alexey Mordashov and closely connected to the President of Russia Volodymyr Putin Gennady Tymchenko were confiscated as well at the northern Italian port Imperia.
As it is known, because of large-scale sanctions being imposed by the Western World the seizure of new Russia oligarchs` assets is expected in the near future. On Friday the Financial Intelligence Unit of the Bank of Italy entrusted Italian banks to urgently report about all measures taken for freezing the assets of natural and legal persons that are on the EU list.
In Italy mining and media tycoon Usmanov is known for possessing a few pieces of real estate on Sardinia, and the Italian mass media report Mordashov owns the villa worth about 66 million euros on the same island.
In addition, the Italian law-enforcement officers confiscated a villa on Lake Como which was the property of state TV presenter Volodymyr Solovyov. The total value of the confiscated was at least 140 million euros.
