It will take at least 2 months to demine ZNPP after its liberation from Russian troops
After the liberation of Enerhodar, a satellite city of ZNPP, special forces will need at least 2 months to defuse explosive devices.
Energoatom National Nuclear Energy Generating Company reports.
Press service informed that Russians are purposefully trying to turn ZNPP into a military base by mining the surrounding area.
It will take at least two months for special forces to carry out demining and for Energoatom specialists to check the condition of equipment and facilities of ZNPP and surrounding area.
Russian invading forces cannot start even one power unit of the station due to damage to power transmission lines. Ukrainian personnel also refuse to cooperate with Russian occupying forces, and Russian specialists do not have sufficient qualifications for full operation of the power plant.
"Because of the stopping of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and shutdown of all its power units, there is constant gradual degradation of systems and equipment. After all, the necessary temperature regime for their operation is not observed, and units are in cold idle state. The plant does not produce electricity, but only consumes it from the Ukrainian power system (about 100 MW for its own needs)", the press service emphasized.
