It is necessary to permanently repel Putin's desire to use nuclear power plants for terrorism - Poroshenko
Petro Poroshenko has urged Western allies to increase the pressure on Putin to the point of permanently dissuading him from resorting to nuclear blackmail
Petro Poroshenko wrote about this on his Facebook page.
Commenting on the situation at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, Poroshenko said: "I think it's called nuclear terrorism. And I think it's madness, because it's 10 times more powerful than the Chernobyl plant. And therefore the catastrophe will be 10 times more terrible. Can a normal person open artillery fire on nuclear reactors? That's exactly what Putin is doing," Poroshenko noted.
"It is very important that the world does everything possible to permanently dissuade Putin from using nuclear power plants as a tool to achieve his goals," the fifth president said.
Poroshenko also urged not to trust Russian propaganda, which accuses Ukraine of shelling the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
"We must be protected from toxic Russian propaganda. How can they claim that it is Ukraine when Russia attacked Ukraine? When Putin brought his troops into the territory of Ukraine, into the territory of the Zaporizhzhia region. This was the direction of Russia's main attack - the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and the city of Energodar. Imagine: they came to your house, they ransacked your home, and after that tried to blame you for this," Poroshenko said indignantly.
"This is a classic style of Russian propaganda. Russia is a nuclear terrorist, and it should definitely bear responsibility for these crimes. I want to emphasize once again that the only way to salvation will be the deputization of Europe and the deputization of the world," Poroshenko summarized.
