ISW does not believe in escalation between Russia and NATO over missiles over Romania
Russian missile flights over Romania are unlikely to provoke an escalation between Russia and NATO countries
This was reported by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Russian troops fired two cruise missiles from the Black Sea, which reportedly crossed the airspace of Romania and Moldova before entering Ukrainian airspace.
Massive missile strikes will continue to pose peripheral risks outside Ukraine, such as February 10 overflights, or the risk of air defense incidents, as in Poland on November 15, 2022.
According to the ISW, NATO and individual member states are in full control of their actions and the degree of escalation in response to accidental or deliberate flights by Russian aircraft and missiles. ISW experts also believe that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not seek war with NATO and is unlikely to directly risk escalation.

ISW also noted that, according to experts, the failures near Vuhledar indicate poor training of the mobilized and institutional problems of the Russian army.

On February 10, the Russian forces once again massively shelled Ukraine. Two missiles, according to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, crossed the airspace of Moldova and Romania. Chisinau confirmed this information, while Bucharest denied it.
