Defense Minister Benny Gantz said Israel does not have the production capabilities to supply Ukraine with air defense systems, The Jerusalem Post reports.
“It is clear that even if we decide that we change our policy, it is impossible to empty our supply of air defense systems,” Gantz said.
The minister stated that Israel will continue to provide Ukraine with humanitarian aid and medical equipment, but not lethal weapons.
“We are checking every day what can be done and how we can expand our aid, but we must not forget that NATO stands behind Ukraine,” the official added.
Gantz made the statement as Ukraine is asking Israel to supply weapons to defend itself against Russian missile strikes and attacks by Iranian-made drones.
