Iran tries to make most of Russia's weakness - Serhiy Danilov
Iran believes that Russia is in a weaker position, so it can be shaken out of it a lot - even for a promise or negotiations’ continuation
This was stated by Deputy Director of the Center for Middle East Studies Serhiy Danilov on Espreso TV channel.
"Negotiations are underway and the Russian forces are trying to buy ballistic missiles from Iran. Iranian authorities will never refuse to negotiate. It is their native element. They believe that Russia is in a weak position. It is possible to shake a lot out of it now and even for a promise or negotiations’ continuation it is possible to bargain something," he said.
Expert claims, the process of transferring drones cannot be simple and fast, as it seemed to both sides at the beginning.
"The Iranians are using the rhythm of deliveries, increasing dependence on themselves to bargain. Both sides do not trust each other. Both Russia and Iran consider each other situational, forced allies and partners, they know that they can leave. Russia is weaker now and Iran is trying to make the most of it," Danilov said.
He is sure that Iranians demand nuclear technologies during these negotiations.
"They need two things - nuclear technology and fighter jets. Iranian authorities are just robbing Russians now. That is the rumor about the price of a fighter jet. The Iranians demand them for nothing. It will be a shame. Russian authorities are ready for anything now, but they understand what a blow to their image it will be in the Middle East. While the fighters are at the factory where they are produced," the expert concluded.
