Iran may be left without a land route to Russia, necessary for transportation of missiles, if Azerbaijan and Armenia make peace - Ukrainian lawyer
The resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict may lead to the closure of the land corridor between Russia and Iran which the countries use for the supply of weapons for the war in Ukraine.
Lawyer Agia Zagrebelska stated this on Espreso TV.
"There is a problem in Iran that there is no land corridor. Iran cannot transport short-range ballistic missiles by air and sea. It is too risky, there will be a lot of evidence that it is Iran, there is a risk of hitting certain ships. To transport by land, they must be transported through the territory of Armenia and Azerbaijan," she said.
In her opinion, these countries do not allow it.
"Given the negotiations of these countries with the mediation of the EU, there is a high risk for Iran that now Armenia and Azerbaijan make peace, the latter will have access to its region through Armenian territory without the involvement of Iran. Then Iran will be completely isolated from Russia by land. We will see further, how will Iran continue to live when it will not have a land region to Russia and Europe at all," the lawyer concluded.
