Iran is unlikely to transfer new Shahed drone modifications to Russia - military expert Zgurets
Defense Express analyst Serhiy Zgurets believes that Iran will not transfer the new Shahed-238 kamikaze drone to Russia
He expressed this opinion on the Espreso TV channel.
"Iran is trying to create various modifications of the Shahed-based kamikaze drones. Now they have added a version of the drone with a rocket engine that can hit targets at a range of up to 1000 km. However, I think that it is unlikely that Iran will transfer new Shahed-238 drones to Russia. Because Russia is now focusing all its efforts on mass production of Shahed-236 drones. It is these drones that Russia is actively using in the war. And their main modification may be to improve their electronic warfare protection systems," explained Zgurets.
The analyst emphasized the importance of developing Ukraine's own defense industry.
"The new Iranian drones are technologically much better than the Shahed-236. However, we will be monitoring how Iran will produce them and on what scale. In this situation, we need to increase the capacity of our own military-industrial complex in order to destroy Russian targets on Russian territory," he added.
