"There was information about the range of Iranian drones of 2.5 thousand km, but we see that if the Russian forces launch them from the area of the Kinburn spit (a sand spit located in the Mykolaiv region - Ed.) or from Tarkhankut (a cape in the west of Crimea - Ed.), then the indicators of overcoming the range show a maximum of 500 km. And now we are observing an increase in the number of downed Shahed-136 drones, that is, our air defense is developing action algorithms to raise forces and means to minimize the risks from these aerial "mopeds," the military expert said.
Serhii Zgurets added about the stories of Odesa residents that they suggest not riding mopeds at night in the city, so as not to create sounds similar to the work of the Iranian Shahed-136 drones.
"Invading Russian forces are running out of weapons and now they have gone to the option of using such strike drones that hit specific targets, but they are less powerful than long-range missiles. Our countermeasures against these drones will be done quickly enough, and on the other hand, the number of Shahed-136 drones is limited, so there is no need to talk about the endless flow of Iranian drones. In fact, this is the first batch of such drones, besides, we know the conditions of Shahed assembly in Iran, that it is almost a manual assembly. Therefore, I do not think that there will be a constant flow of Iranian drones that Russia will use against Ukraine. It will run out soon," Zgurets explained.
