Invading Russian forces damage industrial facilities at Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, Energodar infrastructure - mayor

"For the last week, the Russian occupiers have been quite active, they are constantly firing mortars. The local population says that the time between the release of ammunition and its explosion is 2-3 seconds, that is, from a distance of 1-3 kilometers, the territory adjacent to the ZNPP, the territory of the city, private estates, and dacha cooperatives are shelled. Unfortunately, there are already victims among the local population. It is noted that as a result of the shelling, the industrial part of the nuclear plant facilities was damaged. We can also ascertain damage to the city's infrastructure", the mayor of Energodar said.

Dmytro Orlov reported that for several hours the city was left without electricity, water supply, and drainage. There has been no gas supply in Energodar for almost a month, because the Russian occupiers don't allow repair crews to access the central gas pipeline.

"And now, as a result of the shelling, the satellite city of the largest nuclear power plant in Europe remains on the verge of a humanitarian disaster. This leads to panic among the townspeople and plant workers, who are starting to leave the city. About half of Energodar's residents have already left for the territory under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces", he said.
